I bought my domain from yahoo small business for $9.95 dollar for one year period. I was happy because I thought that I have to pay $9.95 dollar per annum but my guess was wrong. I got to know from various sources that the renewal price or price for extending the period is $34.95! That’s hell lotta money and it’s absolutely useless to pay such such a huge amount just for a domain name. I found on WHOIS info that yahoo resells domain from a company called, Melbourne IT but whose domain pricing is also high enough to make a person bankrupt.

Yahoo! Small Business raised the price of renewal fee from $9.95, up to 12.95 and then up to $34.95

In addition to expensive renewal price, yahoo have automatic renewal options. That means after one year or when the domain expires, Yahoo will automatically charge your credit card and you will see a bill of $34.95 in your credit card statement, Ouch !

 

Think twice before buying a domain from Yahoo! Namecheap.com is a good place to buy domain names. So don’t fall into the trap by buying domains from Yahoo!
